three.5 stars. In this world, shifters are out and the h has been brutalised for her special elements. She's lived in her shifted form for years and her rescuer, the H makes her experience safe. He knows she'southward sweet, simply she's so damaged he doesn't know what she is. I liked this book but would have liked a more blastoff H. Information technology was all a little also sweet. three.5 stars. In this globe, shifters are out and the h has been brutalised for her special elements. Reading the blurb I actually wanted to read this! I was like awww this is going to be a sweet 1! Heh I was right! I loved this story and Sula and Damian were and so damn cute! I fell in love with both!

Reading the blurb I really wanted to read this! I was like awww this is going to be a sweet ane! Heh I was right! I loved this story and Sula and Damian were and so damn beautiful! I fell in love with both!

Exercise yourself a favour and read this volume.
Though this can be read as a standalone very well, it is more fun if yous have read the previous volume.
I was so glad when Ms Carter expanded HUNTING FOR A DRAGON DUKE into a series. This book proves information technology was a expert decision.
Damian is exactly what ane would expect from a Black Dragon and I loved how he treated Sula so carefully fifty-fifty before he knew she was a shifter.
It is rare that a book makes me run a gamut of emotions. I have not had a volume make me feel then sa Do yourself a favour and read this book.
Though this can be read as a standalone very well, it is more than fun if you have read the previous book.
I was then glad when Ms Carter expanded HUNTING FOR A DRAGON DUKE into a series. This book proves it was a good decision.
Damian is exactly what one would expect from a Black Dragon and I loved how he treated Sula and then advisedly even before he knew she was a shifter.
It is rare that a book makes me run a gamut of emotions. I take not had a book make me feel so sad I want to cry and yet at the same time make me smile and experience frivolous.
What horrors Sula has been through boggle the listen but to read about her enjoyment in something every bit uncomplicated equally chocolate block, eating and wearing it, well it makes you appreciate what you lot have even more.

This was a sweetness and heartbreaking story. Sula and Damien fabricated such a practiced couple and you can't help but grin at their interactions. The chocolate cake bits were hilarious. Great read!

Good storyline

Good storyline, just wish it was longer. Needed a little bit more than development between the chief characters. Love Mina Carters books and will read one of the books mentioned at the end.

Cake heals only about everything

Sula was captured very shortly after her hatching by horrible shifters who sold their own kind. Slavery, parts, nothing was beneath them in the pursuit of coin. Her feathers plucked, tortured for her tears, starved for compliance, by the time rescue came she resembled a tiny parrot with severe molting issues. Taken home past her rescuer she finds that there are decent shifters in the globe. Especially as this ane supplies her with chocolate cake.

Sula was captured very presently after her hatching by horrible shifters who sold their own kind. Slavery, parts, nada was below them in the pursuit of money. Her feathers plucked, tortured for her tears, starved for compliance, by the time rescue came she resembled a tiny parrot with astringent molting issues. Taken home by her rescuer she finds that there are decent shifters in the world. Especially equally this one supplies her with chocolate cake.
Existence a black dragon means protecting other shifters, fifty-fifty with ridiculous rumors about snacking on them abounding. When Damien's dragon starts chanting "ours" he brings the tiny baldheaded bird home. Not sure why his dragon wants to go along it, he does recognize it equally some sort of shifter and decides to pacify the egg hoarding reptile with this creature until they tin can find out what it is and nurse information technology dorsum to wellness. No 1 prepared him for a block thieving phoenix. But the kidnappers aren't going to give up such a valuable prize and then easily.

This, while very short for that $3 pricetag, was a cute story. Only over 90 pages, the others were to promote other books past the author. Sweet, more so than the chocolate cake, and lasts about every bit long equally a read as cake would last in the presence of a starving female. There is more than hinted at in the story, other characters mentioned and talked to that I feel are probably in books related to this story line. But there is no order, no numbers, to indicate this. I don't mind stand alones that are related but this has the feel of something more of a series, just without it distinctly maxim so. And while a cute and sweetness tale I'm not sure that a $3 charge per each rather short book is worth looking for the rest and and then trying to effigy out the lodge to read them in. I practise take a question though, if she's a phoenix shifter why does she accept burn scars? I could understand the scars from cuts, plain-featured wings from broken bones (although that was never mentioned fifty-fifty if information technology would fit some of the abuse recalled). But isn't burn healing? Information technology was a question that pulled me out of the story.

I was a scrap uncomfortable with the idea of such a innocent and naive woman beingness sexualized...I hateful, Sula is basically simply 5 years one-time and her just life experience is the abuse she'southward endured and what she's seen on TV. Information technology eased me into comfort that Damian was such a damn decent guy who did everything he could to earn Sula's trust and didn't take things too far until Sula was absolutely ready (and even that was simply a kiss). Information technology isn't until subsequently she'south "rejuvenated" and she basically "matures" that things become rather more sexual, but it no longer feels like Sula is and so child-like. Then...I liked this, but didn't dear the fact that Sula was as innocent every bit she was. YMMV. Generally I think my favorite part was watching a large, badass dragon fall in dear with an adorable, squawky little bird shifter - it'southward pretty fluffy and sweetness. Things go incomparably more angsty there towards the end. But I also wanted a longer ending...this was a pretty sharp 1.

Very little is explained in why anything happened in the offset identify. And there was a massive misstep in that he never explained to her what nearly of us have for granted. Consent and sexual practice. She was naive and knew Naught, nonetheless he but did information technology.

This is a very sweet book.

The way the people in the book responded to each of the situation was so sweet and after the way Sula suffered, it made upward of all the pain she got.

But this black dragon is turned on its head when the lilliputian bald bird eventually recuperates enough to shift back into her man form. Sula can simply vaguely think her family. She was taken from them and placed in a cage. She has had her phoenix feathers plucked, her tears stored and taken away, all and then that someone tin can brand a fast buck.

I loved that Damian for all his outward badassness and growly dragon within is a kind hearted, level headed and empathetic male. He doesn't want any harm to come to Sula and would die rather than have any damage come to her. Sula feels condom with Damian but realistically takes her time to show him her man self until she tin better brand her escape if she read him wrong. Great trivial read!

Sula has known nothing just pain and degradation throughout her life. But when a rescue frees her tin can she step into the low-cal? I really enjoyed coming together Sula in this story past J. Thompson and Mina Carter. Sula is such a strong female character even if she doesn't realize information technology. She has survive where many have not. She has fought equally much as she is able never giving upward. And so she meets Damian. Damian is kind and stiff. Ii qualities that make Sula experience secure. I love that without knowing it Damian h Sula has known nothing simply pain and deposition throughout her life. But when a rescue frees her can she step into the light? I actually enjoyed coming together Sula in this story past J. Thompson and Mina Carter. Sula is such a stiff female person graphic symbol even if she doesn't realize it. She has survive where many accept not. She has fought as much equally she is able never giving up. And and so she meets Damian. Damian is kind and strong. Two qualities that make Sula feel secure. I love that without knowing information technology Damian has provided Sula with something she needs. Something that allows her the fourth dimension to go her bearings and spread her wings. I loved seeing the joy Sula found and the joy Damian plant in caring for her. The romance betwixt Damian and Sula was sugariness almost innocent which I appreciated. Cute, lots of promise but way also short

I'thou actually disappointed 😞 I loved the beginning of the book, the premise was great, Sula is adorable and Damien is awesome, I laughed when Sula was in bird course. Only I paid over $3 for this volume which ended and so rapidly, it was way likewise brusk, not only for the price merely for the story as well. I really enjoyed this story. Sula really needed a happy ending and I was so glad to get her story. Damien was so dandy. Information technology was nice getting to know him better and seeing him with Sula was awesome. This story had plenty of activity, piddling bit of intrigue, and a lot of sweetness moments. I loved Sula and watching her claim Damien scrap past bit. She has pretty much been in captivity her whole life so just about everything is new to her. The loved the way that the story flowed and how they congenital their relat I actually enjoyed this story. Sula actually needed a happy ending and I was so glad to get her story. Damien was then great. It was nice getting to know him better and seeing him with Sula was crawly. This story had plenty of action, little bit of intrigue, and a lot of sweet moments. A fan-freaking-tastic read! I roughshod into this story correct afterwards finishing some other collaboration between these two authors and it was just as addictive as the last one! Beginning of all, kudos for naming a grapheme Sula, as a fan of Toni Morrison this was huge for me. This Sula is a survivor too, fifty-fifty though Damian technically did save her. Their relationship was sweet and built upwards steadily. I just really loved all the parts of this little volume. It was easy to fall into the plot, I only hope we see m A fan-freaking-tastic read! I adore Ms. Carter'southward black dragons and loved Damian. The style he interacted with "little Dot" the "parrot" he rescued was so sweet. Sula has known nothing simply pain her entire life. Forced to stay in her shifted country, Sula feels broken. Then Damian rescues her. He shows her kindness and feeds her chocolate cake. Maybe she can keep him. Hmm....just a little lick then he's hers.

Holy Chocolate Cake!! I freaking loved Sula. While my centre panged for her and her plight, she was a fighter all the way and a survivor. When she started to come up out of her crush and really prove herself, I loved it. Chocolate Cake Angels – Cheque! Licking Handsome Guy to Keep – Double Cheque!! I pigeon into the book and didn't come upward until Sula and her dragon were soaring into a HEA. Sure this was function of the Dragon's Council books. But it was totally stand up alone. Holy Chocolate Block!! I freaking loved Sula. While my eye panged for her and her plight, she was a fighter all the fashion and a survivor. Loved this novella. I'1000 non familiar with Carter's piece of work only I am more than familiar with Thompson's, I've read and loved each and every one of her stories.

Dragon Burn and Phoenix Ash was bang-up, wish it had been longer, couldn't get enough of Damian and Sula. The story was cute and sweet with a touch of sexiness and panty dropping hotness.

Loved this collaboration betwixt authors. Promise they do it once more.

I must admit, I've non read very many shifter stories. But this i has most definitely made me want to read more than. I'm a fan of J Thompson so I was curious of this story. This is my first book I take read by Mina Carter and I'1000 happy to say I will exist reading more than of her work. This is such a center warming and touching story. I beloved Sulas innocence. I felt every emotion of hers as if I were her. Neat book!

Pretty good

I struggled to rate this volume. On its own, it's enjoyable and I loved Damian. But compared to the last book in this series, information technology isn't equally adept. But better than the showtime book where the author lost track of one of the side character names.

All in all, I enjoyed this story and I do recommend it. Only now that the author uses a co-author, just know that the series books won't be the same.

All in all, I enjoyed this story and I practice recommend it. But at present that the author uses a co-writer, just know that the series books won't be the same.

I just rampage read the Council of Black Dragons one-6. They are very short (ranging from 1/two hour to 1 1/ii hour per read). They are entertaining. Personally, I skip the smexy scenes and read for the story. The plot for each is interesting and my only complaint is that they are too short.

This is my favorite of the series, so far. Sula is heartbreaking and her credence of Damian is naught short of miraculous. I freaking loved what she did to his shoulder!
